It had been a long time since the calico she-cat had been among her friends and those she called family, but she had felt it necessary to slip away to give birth to her kits in peace. The Renegades was a dangerous place for newborns, considering the band was nomadic and liked to cause trouble, it had felt like a good idea to have the kits somewhere quiet far from it all. Now though Ryder's four kits were just about old enough to travel, if they weren't the journey back to join the Renegades would give plenty of time for her to learn if it was to soon. This was the pretty calico's first litter of kits after all, so really a lot of this was guesswork, but they seemed big enough and strong enough to travel to her eyes, even so she was feeling rather protectively on edge as they made slow progress through the wilderness.
Her deep blue gaze flickered back to them now, the oldest, a black tom with white splattering his face and ice blue eyes seemed to be watching all his siblings closely, looking out for them all whenever they needed him to, he was the quietest of her kits, as well as the one she trusted most to stay out of trouble. She'd named him Judge when he'd born, as the oldest he'd likely be the one making all the difficult choices and judgements to protect his siblings. Her second oldest, a pretty young calico who would be just as alluring as herself when she was full grown had deserved a noble name to reflect this, as if she were born to the Dragons, so she'd been dubbed Eisazahn and Ryder could not deny that she spoiled her little look alike a little more than the others. The third born was also beautiful, but in a different way to her sister, she looked more like the beauty held in nature.
Her pelt was fluffy and held the swirling mottled colours of a tan tortoiseshell, so Ryder had named her Fawn, after one of the most beautiful, graceful creatures in nature. Then there was the youngest, a rambunctious fellow, dark brown almost black pelt with a mottled patterning to it which showed up in the sunlight, his fur was unruly and which stuck up in all directions, which in her mind showed his personality in his appearance. She'd known he'd be a fun loving, but clever troublemaker the moment she saw that sticky up fur and so she'd named him Rook. Ryder's gaze took in Judge watching over his three younger siblings as she led them from the exposed clearing they'd just passed through back beneath the trees and then her deep blue gaze went back to their surroundings, watching for any threats as they moved.
Ryder
Rook's friendly, deep blue eyes was taking in all his surroundings in wonder, he'd been outside their rocky den before and so seen the outside world before, but now he was in a new location which was far more fascinating to him. The dark, brown kit wanted to go running in zigzags exploring it all, but his older sibling Judge was watching with his pale blue eyes. His older brother was the biggest of them all and was strong enough to pin him to the ground which was never a pleasant experience. Judge was also ghost like even now as a kit, able to appear behind them without warning, a talent that Rook was almost jealous of, everyone seemed to know when he was coming.
He shook out his fluffy pelt, sending it sticking up in all new kinds of directions and glanced towards Judge noting he was drifting through the group of kits, currently he was beside Fawn, a quiet, supportive, slightly threatening shadow. Rook snorted, turning his gaze ahead, his mothers tail was swaying as she walked,a tingling swept through his small form and he pranced forwards playfully, wanting to chase, to catch the prey before him. But then he was forcing himself to reign it in, sensing Judge's ice blue gaze scorching his pelt and he found himself glancing towards his older sister Eisazahn now, a pout upon his young face.
