Her call boomed throughout the camp, and as the cats slowly began to come to her call, she grinned. She was slowly adjusting to this spot, it'd probably only be a few more weeks until she was fully adjusted. [/blockquote]Her faded teal eyes with dark with lack of sleep and stress. Her normally glossy, sleek fur was matted, and looked greasy. these were just a few of the signs that their leader wasn't in the best of shape anymore. Normally she would've had sparkling teal eyes and sleek, laid back and groomed fur. But recently with the sickness hanging on the young leaders shoulders, and the fact that she was in her mothers shadow was enough stress for the youngster to deal with. Shockstep had also seemed determined to make her life a living hell. Yet everyday Shorestar would sit on her rock and announce and tend to her clan. She wouldn't let them fall. She simply couldn't allow it. Her it was against her morals, and against everything her family taught her.
Today although, something needed to be done. Something she had put off for quite some time. Shorestar needed one cat, she needed a very brave, and talented cat to go. She had someone in mind, but she wasn't sure if others wanted in this or not, so instead. She would call it out to the clan. She would allow them to decide amongst themselves. They would have some control. Shorestar looked out to where her sick clan sat. They were unhappy with her. She knew that. But honestly it didn't matter to her. She needed time to sort things out, and she was keeping in constant contact with Beewings so that if there was a change in anyone. She would be informed.
Shorestar sat up and moved out from her den, and down to the broken stump. She sat there, and watched as everyone flooded to her. Her eyes shone a tired, and pained glint shone in her eyes. The cats before her looked so sick, so terrified, and tired. They were slowly subcumming to the sickness, but Shorestar wouldn't allow it. She sat up a little more, and curled her long fluffy tail against her paws and yowled out to the clan. "All those who can swim in the river, gather beneath the Broken Stump for a clan meeting!"
